Mule Deer Foundation Appreciates Administration’s Commitment to Continue Hunting and Wildlife Committee

Salt Lake City, Utah: The Mule Deer Foundation welcomed today’s announcement by the Administration that it would be continuing to convene a panel of hunting conservation organizations as a federal advisory committee to the Departments of Agriculture and the Interior. The Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Committee will continue the commitment made by every administration since 2008 to solicit engagement by the sportsmen’s community. Following is a statement by Mule Deer Foundation President/CEO Joel Pedersen:

“It’s encouraging this Administration sees the value of sportsmen and women by continuing their engagement through the Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Committee. The Mule Deer Foundation served on the previous advisory committee, and we look forward to maintaining our dialog with the Departments of Agriculture and the Interior on issues that are critical to wildlife conservation and our hunting heritage. Through the American Wildlife Conservation Partners and the Hunt Fish 30 by 30 coalition, the hunting conservation community was able to provide critical input in the development of the America the Beautiful plan directing this Administration’s conservation vision. The inclusion of many priorities in that plan, including the continued commitment to big game migration corridors and to shared forest management, as well as the renewal of the Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Committee shows that this Administration values the input of sportsmen and women. The Mule Deer Foundation looks forward to working with them to ensure that the long tradition and experience of our hunting community will continue to play a critical role in America’s wildlife conservation successes.”
