MDF Employee Spotlight
In the MDF Employee Spotlight Segment the Mule Deer Foundation would like to call attention to a specific MDF employee, and bring their efforts to the forefront of our messaging. These staff members are pivotal to the Mule Deer Foundation accomplishing our mission and it’s important that we recognize them as often as we can.
Our first staff member we would like to highlight is Michael Buchanan
Michael Buchanan’s job:
As the membership services coordinator Michael has multiple tasks for maintaining a good rapport with MDF members. I manage the Customer Relationship Managment system, Member data analytics, and the general membership list .
The largest part of my efforts at MDF are dedicated towards maintaining and enhancing our current database. This includes aspects such as uploading membership lists from regional directors into NetSuite, Finding irregularities in our data and correcting them through both manual and automatic cleaning processes, As well as creating a zip code radius tool for home chapter identification.
Why MDF?
Michael is a strong advocate for conservation. The pursuit of finding purpose through helping build community and organizing volunteer efforts toward the betterment of conservation and especially Mule Deer have been a huge part of Michaels life since his time with the Marine Corps.
“The amount of habitat work we do for mule deer, is impressive to say the least. I have worked and volunteered with other organizations in the past and nobody is doing as much not only for mule deer but for the whole ecosystem as MDF is.”
“I know I am not in the field and my position is more based on data analytics and the business side of what we do, but every fall on the mountain I get to look around and know that much of this landscape is here in small way because of my work.
From Matt Fenoff: (Michael’s Boss)
Michael has been a blessing to MDF. His skills and knowledge associated with database management will have a tremendous impact on our ability to communicate better with our supporter base from members to volunteers to major donors and make our staff’s efforts associated with membership more efficient on a day-to-day basis. His open mindedness and ability to learn quickly make Michael a massive asset to MDF. We are extremely happy to have him on the team!
Great Job Michael, Keep up the great work!
Good Luck!
