Salt Lake City, Utah: Adam Weatherby, President and CEO of Weatherby, Inc. has volunteered to serve as a member of the Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) board of directors. Weatherby joined the board at its meeting held during the recent Western Hunting & Conservation Expo in Salt Lake City, Utah. Weatherby, who is the third-generation family member to run the iconic American brand, brings significant business acumen to MDF as well as a strong commitment to conservation.

“I have tremendous respect for the Mule Deer Foundation as an organization that is a strong voice for conservation and our hunting heritage, and I am honored to serve on their board of directors,” Weatherby stated. “I have always been passionate about hunting mule deer and black-tailed deer and believe that my participation on the MDF board will help these species – and the habitats they depend on – to flourish.”

Weatherby, Inc was founded in 1945 by Adam’s grandfather and the company continues to fuel the passion of hunters and shooters around the globe by building some of the world’s finest firearms and premium ammunition. In 2017, Adam took over as president from his father who had run the company for 34 years. Adam remains committed to the legacy of the Weatherby name and all that it represents in firearm excellence, cartridge innovation, hunting passion and conservation commitment. After operating in California since the company opened, it was announced in January that Weatherby would be moving to Sheridan, Wyoming by spring 2019. Adam, his wife Brenda and their two teenage children are all avid hunters and conservationists and believe strongly in the importance of carrying on our outdoor heritage. As an MDF board member, Adam will be actively engaged in helping the organization fulfill its mission to conserve mule deer and black-tailed deer and to fuel the passion in the next generation of hunter-conservationists.

“We are very excited to welcome Adam to our board of directors and will greatly appreciate his unique perspective and expertise in implementing our strategic vision,” commented Miles Moretti, MDF President/CEO. “MDF’s board has been integral in our success as we have become one of the leading wildlife conservation organizations in the country. Adam will play a key role in helping the organization continue to grow and implement our conservation mission.”
