Chelsea Merriman has accepted the Idaho Transportation Technical Assistance Liaison position in Boise, Idaho. She holds bachelor’s degree in environmental science and anthropology from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in biology from Boise State University. Chelsea has worked on ecological projects across the continent including wildlife-vehicle collision studies, salmon and bull trout habitat monitoring programs, and larger research into Greater Sage-grouse ecology. She previously served as the Director of Data, Analytics, and Remote Sensing at Owyhee Air Research, where she utilized and further developed aerial remote sensing technologies for wildlife monitoring in ecosystems ranging from arctic tundra to southwestern desert. Chelsea transitioned into the world of NEPA and Transportation Ecology in 2024. She currently lives in Boise and enjoys fishing, frolicking, and foraging outdoors with her husband, Shawn, and their dog, Kenai.
