Collin Smith – Regional Conservation Coordinator – Eastern MT, Northern WY, & Dakotas

Collin joins the Mule Deer Foundation as the Regional Conservation Coordinator with responsibilities in Montana, Wyoming and the Dakota’s. Collin is a Certified Wildlife Biologist® with over 30 years’ experience in wildlife management, wildlife habitat development and conservation program delivery. While from Wyoming, Collin’s background in the wildlife management and conservation field however spans experience across the Southeast, Midwest, Great Plains and Rocky Mountain states where he has worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, state wildlife agencies in North Carolina, Florida and Missouri, the South Carolina Waterfowl Association, Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation, and in the private sector where he managed private lands around the country.  He also developed and operated Intermountain Land and Wildlife Services, a consulting group out of Three Forks, Montana.

Collin earned an Associate Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Management from Unity College in Unity, Maine in 1989 and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Wildlife Management and Natural Resource Analysis from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky in 1992.

His passion lies in conserving wildlife habitat with expertise in forest, range, riparian and wetland ecosystem project development.  He lives in Wilsall, Montana where he enjoys spending free time in the mountains and on the rivers… hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping.
