The Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) and Ariat World Series of Team Roping are partnering to increase awareness and help conserve mule deer, black-tailed deer, and their habitat.
“The Mule Deer Foundation is proud to be the Official Wildlife Conservation Sponsor of the WSTR,” said John T. Gebhart – Regional Director for MDF in Arizona and Southern Nevada. “Our mission is to ensure the conservation of mule deer, black-tailed deer and their habitat. MDF is a lot like the World Series of Team Roping in that we want to preserve the outdoor way of life for future generations.”
MDF is committed to sharing its passion for the outdoors with the knowledge that today’s investment will ensure the future of mule deer and black-tailed deer herds. Whether it is a day on the range shooting targets, a frosty morning atop a remote mountain, or a shared sunset over the sage steppe, our community is entrusted with the responsibility to manage our natural resources and introduce new people to our world.
“We’re proud of this sponsorship with the Mule Deer Foundation,” said Lory Merritt, WSTR Director of Sales. “The goals of the MDF fit our members to a tee. We live the outdoor lifestyle and conserving what we all enjoy is a perfect fit for our ropers. We look forward to a long and meaningful relationship.”
As the leader in mule deer habitat conservation, MDF has put millions of dollars toward on-the-ground habitat improvement and restoration to improve the health of western forests and rangelands. These projects support not only mule deer and black-tailed deer herds, but also vast numbers of associated wildlife species while improving water quality, reducing wildfire risk, and enhancing hunting and other recreational access.
MDF representatives will be attending WSTR events across the country, and will be providing notifications on how to meet MDF Staff as a part of our MDF In Your State. pages. Check back for details on upcoming events on our Events calendar.
