Marshall has been with the Mule Deer Foundation since 2010 serving as a Regional Director originally in Montana, and more recently North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota and other points east of the Mississippi. Marshall has been married to his wife, Pat, for 30 years and has raised two sons who he has passed on the outdoors gene. Since a youth, Marshall has been an active outdoorsman, fin to feather to antlers, and jumped at an opportunity to join the Mule Deer Foundation. Beginning as a volunteer and chapter chair, to leaving the corporate world of newspaper to focus on a career in supporting habitat thru the MDF. Volunteering, and now working with a top conservation organization has been very fulfilling, and Marshall loves the fact that he can hike thru an area that MDF volunteers and staff have put funding and sweat equity the ground, improving it for generations to come. In 2022, Marshall continued to expand in his role, and was appointed Director of Field Operations.
