Upper Castle Willow Creek Restoration

Deep in the Black Hills National Forest the Mule Deer foundation is hard at work building strategic habitat for mule deer and a litany of other species.

In partnership with the USFS Mystic Ranger District, MDF is working to restore riparian areas and improve watershed health. Thanks to the support of of Rapid City based outdoor gear company and corporate partner Cole-Tac

Volunteers from MDT and Cole-Tac, helped complete Phase I of this project by collecting 1,000 willow whips, which will be grown out over winter before planting next spring.

Stay tuned for Phase II updates we continue our work to enhance the watershed on the Upper Castle Creek Watershed.
