New Team member Announcement!
It is my pleasure to welcome our newest hire, Shelby Pollard. She will be our Region 2 Regional Conservation Coordinator helping us implement habitat projects and further our partnerships in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and parts of South Dakota. Below is more information about Shelby, please reach out to her and welcome her to the MDF team!
Shelby is a Colorado transplant from Northern California who feels most at home in the mountains. Whether its fishing alpine lakes, paddleboarding, or hiking with her dog, Shelby prefers to spend her free time outside and is passionate about conservation advocation. She has previously worked for multiple California government agencies including California State Parks and most recently for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW). During her 8-year tenure at CDFW, Shelby implemented wildfire resiliency projects throughout the Sierra Nevada, reviewed and permitted complex habitat restoration plans and learned how to perform surveys for threatened, endangered, native and invasive species. Shelby received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and is pursuing a Master’s of Science in Environmental Policy and Management to apply the latest science to conservation project management.
Brought to Colorado Springs by her husband’s military service as an Air Force pilot, Shelby is eager to continue to utilize and grow her breadth of experience in wildfire resiliency efforts, wildlife management and agency collaboration to support MDF partnership conservation projects near her new home in the Front Range and beyond.
