Chris grew up in Northern California farming almonds, prunes, and rice, spending much of his life driving tractors and working alongside his family. His father, an agricultural teacher for 37 years, instilled in him a deep commitment to conservation and introduced him to his first MDF banquet in 1990, an experience that sparked a lifelong passion.

Guided by his love of wildlife and dedication to community service, Chris devotes much of his time to supporting veterans, the elderly, and youth, creating opportunities for people to engage outdoors and experience nature’s healing power. As a child, he fell in love with Nevada’s Ruby Mountains, especially the Ruby Marsh, where he shared unforgettable days with family friends chasing big mule deer and taking in Nevada’s breathtaking skies.

Chris’ personal mission is to ensure continued progress in mule deer habitat conservation, keeping younger generations educated and involved, and encourage communities to grow stronger together as family.
