Wyoming Shiras Moose Governors Permit: This coveted tag has been awarded to the Livermore-Pleasanton Chapter of the Mule Deer Foundation and will be auctioned off during the live auction sometime after 8PM. The permit may be bid on in person, by phone or by proxy. By statute, a Wyoming Governor’s Moose License is only valid in open hunt areas with greater than 10 Type 1 “any” of “antlered” moose licenses issued.

The number of licenses issued per hunt area MAY change from year to year. For 2022, that included Hunt Areas 3, 5, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27, 38, 41, and 45.  Season dates and license numbers for fall 2023 will be finalized in April 2023.

Open Zone Deer Tags are valid during the authorized season dates of any deer hunt, using the specific method and meeting any special conditions of the tag for that hunt. A tagholder may take any legal buck, using any legal method of take for hunting deer. Tagholders shall report to the Assistant Chief, Law Enforcement Division at the appropriate Department of Fish and Game Regional Headquarters prior to hunting as to the time and area they intend to hunt.

Grizzly Island Elk Tag is valid on Grizzly Island Wildlife Area for one bull elk. The season shall open on the first Saturday in August and continue for 30 consecutive days. General season shall open on the second Tuesday after the first Saturday in August and continue for 4 consecutive days.
