Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and grow fundraising and revenue opportunities throughout the assigned territory, including events, memberships, sponsorships, raffles, auctions, and other fundraising initiatives.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and secure sponsors, members, donors, businesses, and other supporters to achieve established revenue goals.
- Plan, organize, promote, and conduct fundraising events, including banquets and secondary fundraising activities.
- Recruit, mentor, and support volunteer chapter leaders and develop new chapters and fundraising opportunities.
- Represent MDF/BDF at fundraising events, outdoor expos, chapter meetings, conservation projects, and community events.
- Develop relationships with donors, sponsors, conservation partners, businesses, landowners, and wildlife agencies.
- Independently identify opportunities to increase fundraising revenue, membership, sponsorships, and organizational support throughout the territory.
- Maintain required budgets, reports, CRM records, financial documentation, and event records.
- Ensure compliance with Foundation policies, financial procedures, and event standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and strategic priorities of MDF/BDF.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, sales, business development, volunteer leadership, nonprofit management, or event management.
- Excellent communication, public speaking, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and achieve fundraising and revenue goals.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Passion for wildlife conservation, ethical hunting, and the mission of MDF/BDF.
What Success Looks Like
- Meet or exceed established fundraising and revenue goals.
- Increase fundraising revenue, membership, sponsorships, and chapter performance.
- Recruit, develop, and retain exceptional volunteers.
- Develop new fundraising opportunities and lasting partnerships throughout the region.
- Represent the Foundation with professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
Travel & Physical Work Requirements
This is a remote-based, field-focused position requiring frequent regional travel to conduct fundraising, membership, sponsorship, event, and relationship-development activities. Travel includes evenings, weekends, overnight travel, extended driving, and occasional air travel.
Candidates must be able to:
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Heavier items require appropriate assistance or equipment.
- Load, unload, set up, and transport event equipment and merchandise.
- Stand and walk for extended periods during fundraising events.
- Bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Starting at $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Regional Directors are eligible for performance-based incentive compensation based on established fundraising and monetary performance goals.
