MDF Corporate Relations Manager

Reports to: MDF Director of Business Development.
Classification: Full-time, Salary
Anticipated Start Date: July 2026

Travel Requirement: Minimal travel (4-6 times annually) for events and partner meetings.
Salary: $75,000+ DOE, plus benefits (Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, and 401K)
Job Summary
The Corporate Relations Manager plays a critical role in driving revenue growth and advancing the mission of the Mule Deer Foundation through strategic corporate partnerships, sponsorship sales, and long-term relationship development.
This position is responsible for identifying, securing, and growing corporate partnerships that support conservation initiatives, organizational priorities, and fundraising goals. Unlike traditional sales roles focused on physical products, this position requires a relationship-driven professional who can effectively communicate mission impact, build meaningful partnerships, and create compelling sponsorship opportunities that align business objectives with conservation outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Revenue Generation
- Identify, prospect, and secure new corporate partnerships aligned with the Mule Deer Foundation’s mission, audience, and conservation initiatives.
- Develop and execute strategies to meet annual partnership revenue goals.
- Lead partnership sales efforts from prospecting and outreach through proposal development, negotiation, closing, and renewal.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with corporate partners, sponsors, and industry stakeholders to increase retention and long-term investment.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing partnerships through upselling, cross-collaboration, and additional activation opportunities.
- Clearly communicate the organization’s mission, conservation impact, audience reach, and communications value in a compelling and professional manner.
- Represent the organization professionally within the hunting, outdoor, conservation, and corporate communities.
Strategic Marketing & Storytelling
- Collaborate with Communications to develop compelling sponsorship materials, presentations, campaigns, and partner communications.
- Help position the Mule Deer Foundation as a valuable communications and brand partner through storytelling, audience engagement, and mission-driven activations.
- Understand partner communications objectives and develop creative solutions that align with both organizational goals and sponsor needs.
- Assist with the creation of partnership recaps, impact reporting, and ROI-focused communications for partners.
- Identify innovative partnership concepts, campaigns, and activations that strengthen partner visibility and organizational impact.
Partner Deliverable Management
- Manage the full lifecycle of partnership deliverables and fulfilment.
- Translate agreements into clear project plans, timelines, and actionable deliverables.
- Maintain clear communication with partners regarding approvals, deadlines, and fulfillment expectations.
- Coordinate with internal departments including communications, events, fundraising, and operations to ensure successful execution of obligations.
- Track deliverables, campaign performance, sponsorship metrics, and engagement.
- Maintain accurate partner records, communications, agreements, and reporting within the CRM system.
- Proactively identify and resolve fulfillment issues or communication gaps.
Cross Departmental Support
- Work closely with leadership to identify new revenue opportunities, strategic initiatives, and partnership growth areas.
- Support fundraising campaigns, membership initiatives, events, and conservation programs through strategic sponsor engagement.
- Collaborate with Finance to track partnership revenue, invoicing, and reconciliation.
- Assist with pipeline tracking, forecasting, and revenue reporting.
- Develop internal resources, onboarding materials, and process documentation to improve partnership operations and communication flow.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in corporate sales, sponsorship sales, account management, business development, or related fields.
- Proven ability to generate revenue through relationship-based sales and strategic partnerships.
- Strong understanding of sponsorship value, brand communications, audience engagement, and partnership development.
- Strong network and relationships within the hunting and outdoor industry.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

- Experience collaborating with communications teams on campaigns, activations, and branded content.
- Experience tracking partnership performance metrics, audience engagement, and campaign reporting.
