    What information we collect and receive

    1. The information we collect and receive about you depends on how you use our Services, as outlined below.

      1. Information you provide. You provide information directly to us when you create an account on our website, buy something from us, use our customer support, or respond to our surveys and market research.         1. Other users and the public. Depending on how you use the Services, some of your information will be publicly available. For example, if you post information on chapter portal, the information you provide about yourself, including your name, social media handles, and blogs, as well as any Content you provide, including any photographs, stories, and comments, may be visible to other users and the public. Some of your account information, like your name, profile picture, and biography, may also be accessible by other users and the public.

        2. Third-Party Providers. We provide your information to third parties who help provide parts of the Services that you may request or need, like shipping and payment processing.

        3. Vendors. We provide your information to vendors who support our business, like by providing technical infrastructure, data analytics, and other support.

        4. Professional Advisors. We may share your information with our advisors and consultants to help us in different tax, legal, and other professional matters.

      1. We keep the data we collect for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, for as long as you have an active account with us, for as long as may be required or allowed by law, or for as long as we notified you that we would keep that data.

      2. While storing your information, we implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, change, or damage.

      Your rights and choices

      1. Depending on where you are located, some domestic laws give users certain rights to their information, including the following:

        1. Right to access. You may have the right to confirm if (and how) we are processing your information, as well as the right to access and get a copy of your information.

You may designate an authorized representative to exercise your rights on your behalf. However, to exercise some rights, you may need to give your agent written permission to do so.

      3. In order to process your request, we will need enough information to verify your identity or, if you designated a representative, to verify the representative’s authority. If we cannot verify the identity or authority of a person making a request, or if the request is unfounded, excessive, repetitive, or made too frequently, we may reject it or charge a reasonable fee to the extent allowed by applicable law. Any information provided to verify a requestor’s identity will only be used for purposes of identification verification.

      4. We try to respond to verifiable requests within 45 days after we receive them, but we may need additional time to fulfill your request, depending on the circumstances. If that happens, we will notify you of the reason and the extension period in writing.

      5. If you want to opt out of MDF’s marketing emails, you can use the unsubscribe link in those emails or you can change your account settings. Some of our emails are service-related or legally required, and you will continue to receive them even if you opt out of marketing emails.

      Children’s Privacy

      1. Although our Services are designed for a more general audience, they are not directed at children under 13 years old, and MDF does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone under 13 years old.         2. Contract. We need your personal information to provide you with the Services to perform our obligations associated with our contract with you, such as to create and secure your account, or to respond to your inquiries.

      4. International data transfers
        1. If you provide us with your personal information when using the Services from the EEA, Turkey, Switzerland or the UK or other regions of the world with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, then please note that you are transferring your personal information outside of those regions to the United States for storage and processing. The legal basis for these transfers to the US is consent, as identified above.
        2. When we transfer your Personal Information internationally, we ensure that relevant safeguards are in place to afford adequate protection for your personal information and we will comply with applicable laws by relying on an EU Commission adequacy decision, or the current standard contractual protections for the transfer of your personal information or if a derogation is available.
