Born and raised in Oregon, leaving for a short stint with the Army in the early 1960’s, Ken’s first memories of deer hunting were trailing along behind his dad and brothers in the Topsy Grade area in the early 50’s. When Ken can draw a tag, he still hunts with his oldest brother who is 92 in the same area. The Topsy Grade area isn’t recognizable compared to those days, but the memories of the glory days are still there. After retiring from Weyerhaeuser/Collins Products as a millwright in 2007 Ken saw that MDF was looking for a regional director for Oregon and threw his hat in the ring. Ken had previously become involved with other conservation organizations and felt that this would be a fantastic opportunity to continue giving back to the outdoors. Ken and his wife, Olive recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in June of 2021. Ken has two children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
