By Ted Archibeque and Scott Hampel

EAGLE, Colo. – On May 3, 2008 the Mule Deer Foundation Buckhorn Chapter hosted its annual event at the Eagle County Fairgrounds Building in Eagle, Colo. Nearly 400 people were in attendance to witness this impressive event. The event included prime rib dinner along with a variety of games, raffles, silent auctions and live auction. This was a record setting event for Eagle County conservation as the chapter raised over $54,000 to work towards the mission of “ensuring the conservation of mule deer and their habitat.”

The Colorado Division of Wildlife presented a
plaque and letter of thanks to MDF's Eagle Buckhorn
Chapter.

In addition, a passionate group of volunteers from this chapter assisted the Colorado Division of Wildlife in its deer feeding effort that took place this past winter while significant snowfall was received throughout Eagle County. Over 1,100 volunteer hours and literally tons of pellets(deer food) equated to saving hundreds of mule deer from starvation. Perry Will, with Colorado Division of Wildlife Presented Plaque and a Letter of Thanks to the Chapter saying “We could not have done it without you!” A special thanks is given to the following list of volunteers, donors, and other contributors who assisted in these efforts.
