Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Shooting Sports Sponsorships

In 2008, the Northern Badlands Chapter (Bismarck) and the Lake Agassiz Chapter (Fargo) helped further the goal of youth recruitment and retention by partnering with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) to sponsor their shooting sports program. Each chapter gave $315 toward the purchase of the following items to help further the program:
- 144 Fiberglass arrows (26 inch) @ $2.50 each = $360
- 4 BB Single Shot BB Guns @ $60 each = $240
- 6 Genius Bows @ $110 each = $660
- Total Costs = $1260
With the alarming rates of hunter numbers declining across the country, numerous MDF chapters have been helping other groups with their youth events, as well as launch their own youth programs as well. This is a crucial step in the goal of recruiting and retaining hunters ‘into the fold’ for the sake of the future of hunting and wildlife management.
