North Dakota Wildlife Federation’s Youth Conservation Camp Grant

The Northern Badlands Chapter (Bismarck) and the West Dakota Chapter (Minot) have partnered with the North Dakota Wildlife Federation to help sponsor their annual Youth Conservation Camp at the Triangle Y Camp near Garrison, ND. The Northern Badlands Chapter has put a total of $945 in camp sponsorships and MDF merchandise towards the camp since 2005 and the West Dakota Chapter joined the Northern Badlands Chapter in 2008 by putting $145 towards a camp sponsorship as well.

The camp is open to all boys and girls ages 12-16. The activities that they participate in are: archery, orienteering, bird watching, rangeland studies, canoeing, soil studies, dog training, outdoor survival, field trips, fishing, trapshooting, forestry, water ecology, Native American history, & wetland studies.

By supporting our youth of today, we are ensuring our outdoor heritage for tomorrow. Showing our young people that hunting, fishing, and outdoor conservation are positive and necessary things will have profound affects on our wildlife resources in the future. Many of us got involved in the outdoors by simply being positively introduced to it when we were younger. These two MDF chapters as well as many, many others are doing their part to ensure that others get out and enjoy the great outdoors.
