Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry Grant

Farmers and Hunters Feeding the HungryFarmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry (FHFH) is an outreach ministry of the people of God called upon to feed venison to the hungry among us nationwide. Farmers and hunters deliver the harvested surplus deer and other big game to participating meat processors in each county. Donations from churches, clubs, business and individuals cover the costs of processing, packaging and freezing the meat. The frozen meat is then available for pickup by a local food bank or feeding program.

The Big Sky Chapter of the MDF has made a $400 grant to this program, which John and Sheila Wilson (the chairs of the Big Sky Chapter in Billings) are in charge of for their area. In addition to helping local communities, this endeavor helps to spread the word about the MDF and shows we are good stewards in the community and in the state.

This is not only a great way to help those in need, but is also a great way to promote and advertise the MDF in the area. Every dollar is used towards the cost of processing venison donated by sportsmen. The venison is ground, packaged and frozen by local certified butcher shops for distribution to food pantries and soup kitchens in the community under the supervision of FHFH.
